Fengdong Xu has extensive work experience in firmware engineering, particularly in the implementation of audio and video codecs. Fengdong began their career at Sony Electronics in 2001 as a Staff Engineer, where they focused on the implementation of MP-3 audio decoder and host interface. In 2002, they joined Global CAD as a Staff Firmware Engineer, working on the implementation of MPEG Audio/Video on a VDSP. Fengdong then moved to ITE Inc., Sunnyvale CA in 2004 as a Staff Engineer, where they were responsible for implementing MP3 encoder and JPEG decoder on an Analog Devices DSP. Since 2013, Fengdong has been working at Fortemedia as a Sr. Principal Firmware Engineer, where they have been involved in the implementation of various audio codecs and voice codecs using assembly on Sigma's DSP. Fengdong Xu pursued their education in an orderly manner, starting from 1979 to 1983, when they enrolled at Xi'an Jiaotong University. During this period, they completed their Master's degree in Electronic Engineering. Following this, they attended the Philips International Institute located in Endhoven, The Netherlands, from 1988 to 1989. At Philips, they focused on Electrical and Electronics Engineering and obtained a Mater's degree.
