Human-centered Design Capability Lead at Fortescue Metals

Phil Delalande (GAICD) has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and companies. Currently, they serve as the Human-Centered Design Capability Lead (HCD) at Fortescue since August 2021. In 2017, they became the Managing Director of Symphonia and has held the position since then. Phil is also an Advisory Board Member at Facilitate, a Founder and Chair at UXCamp Australia, and a member of the ECU Design Consultative Committee at Edith Cowan University. In 2022, they took on the role of Director at Neovate Education, where they empower students and educators for innovation. Prior to that, Phil served as the Global Head of Experience Design at Moodle from August 2021 to March 2022. Phil also worked at Telstra Purple as the Strategy & Design Principal from December 2019 to August 2021, and as the Strategy & Design Lead from April 2018 to December 2019. Additionally, Phil held the position of Strategy & Design Lead at Readify from April 2018 to December 2019. Before these roles, they worked at KinChip Systems as the User Experience Lead, leading Human-Centered Design in a startup developing a parenting application.

Phil Delalande (GAICD) has a diverse education history. Phil completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 1994-1996, they pursued a CAPES degree in Secondary Education and Teaching at Academie de Lille. From 1991-1994, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign languages, Literatures, and Civilizations from the University d'Artois. In 2004-2005, they pursued a QTS degree from the Department of Education in the UK. Delalande also holds additional certifications, including GAICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org.
