Steve Kuhn

Steve Kuhn is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive experience in mineral exploration and project generation, currently serving as the Manager of Exploration for Kazakhstan at Fortescue since January 2022. Leading diverse teams, Steve has successfully executed greenfields copper exploration initiatives in central and eastern Kazakhstan. Prior to this role, Steve held positions including Principal Geoscientist and Senior Geoscientist, contributing to various international projects, with a focus on the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and Zambian Copperbelt. Steve's previous experience includes a senior geophysicist role at Fortescue Metals Group, leading geophysical efforts across multiple regions, educator roles at the University of Tasmania, and significant contributions to exploration projects at Gold Fields. Steve holds a PhD in Geology and additional qualifications in statistics, mineral systems, and geochemistry from the University of Tasmania.
