Boyan Chen

Boyan Chen is a seasoned IT security professional currently serving as a Senior IT Security Advisor at FortisAlberta since May 2022. Prior to this role, Boyan accumulated extensive experience at the Alberta Energy Regulator from September 2013 to April 2022, holding positions such as Senior Specialist Cyber Security Operation and Security Analyst, where responsibilities included developing security architecture, investigating security incidents, and enhancing cloud security practices. Boyan has also contributed to the Government of Alberta as an Enterprise Architect and IT Analyst Intern, focusing on enterprise architecture frameworks and IT solution design. Early career experience includes roles as a Network Administrator at Nelson House Education Authority and as a System Analyst at China Digital Video (Beijing) Limited. Boyan holds a Master’s degree in Information Security Management from Concordia University of Edmonton and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Jilin University.
