Emily Gillis

Emily Gillis is a highly experienced Geographic Information Systems professional with a background in both geology and GIS technology. Currently serving as the Geographic Information Systems Coordinator at FortisAlberta since May 2021, Emily provides GIS support for custom map requests, builds tools for ArcPro workflows, and manages asset edit error queues. Previous roles include a GIS Support Analyst at FortisAlberta and a Data Integrity & GIS Student at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Emily's early career involved significant geosteering expertise at Chinook Consulting Services, where over 200 oil wells were successfully remotely geosteered, and as a Geologist at EOG Resources, leading the drilling plans for 250 horizontal wells. Emily holds a Bachelor of Applied Technology in GIS from SAIT and a BSc in Geology from the University of Calgary.
