Matt Downey

As Vice President Energy and Supply Chain Sales, Downey is responsible for Fortress’ overall Sales effort within North American Energy Utility and adjacent Markets.

Prior to his current position, Downey was the Head of Sales, Analytics, and IoT for Nokia of America. In this role, he was responsible for the overall Sales Management and Go-To-Market effort for Nokia’s Analytics Asset Intelligence platform, offering Energy Utility Clients a proactive approach to asset health and maintenance. Previously, he served as Utilities Senior Enterprise Sales Manager with Oracle, focusing on cloud applications within the ERP, EPM and SCM solutions verticals. Prior, he was Senior Account Executive with SpaceTime Insight, providing solutions for the utility industry to reduce maintenance costs and risk, as well as pinpoint theft and ensuring regulatory compliance. Before that, Downey was Manager, Smart Grid Solutions West for Elster Solutions (now Honeywell). In this role, he was responsible for the entire Sales initiative within this territory for Elster’s comprehensive Smart Metering/ Advanced Metering Infrastructure portfolio. Downey also worked for Datamatic, Ltd., provider of automatic meter reading solutions for gas, water, and electric utilities in a variety of capacities during his 9 ½ year tenure. These included: Vice President- Customer Care, Territory Sales Manager, and Sales Mentor.

Downey currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Euless, TX Campus of Classical Conversations Education Program (“CC”). CC enables the classical curriculum within the education process, including Latin, Logic, Exposition, Debate, Reasoning, and Grammar. Downey is a member and participant of the Tapestry Adoption and Foster Care ministry. Downey is an Eagle Scout Mentor with Boy Scouts of America. He also is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and formerly of Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Downey resides in Arlington, TX with his wife Christy, and their two children. He is a member in good standing at Community Bible Church in Irving, TX where he serves as Chairman of the Board and teaching Elder.

Downey holds a Bachelor’s degree(s) in Ancient Languages, English and Sociology/Social Work from the University of Texas-Arlington and Moody Bible Institute, as well as a Master’s in Theology-Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary.
