James Atkins

James Atkins currently serves as a Senior Planner for the City of Foster City, specializing in advanced planning since May 2023. Previous experience includes senior planning roles at the City of Hermosa Beach and as an Associate Planner for the City of Milpitas. James has also contributed to current planning for the City of Murrieta and served as Planner III for the City of Temecula. Prior to these roles, James worked in various architectural and urban design capacities at JA Design and AECOM, contributing to significant projects in the UAE and Arizona. James's career began with project management in urban design at Sunbelt Holdings and urban planning at the City of Surprise. Educational background includes a B.S. in Architecture from Arizona State University and an Associate of Arts in Architectural Sciences and Technology from Scottsdale Community College.
