Nate Cruz currently serves as Finance Director for the City of Foster City since January 2025. Prior to this role, Nate held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the Port of San Francisco from January 2020 to January 2025 and has extensive experience within various financial roles in public sector organizations, including Associate Treasurer and Deputy Director of Economic Development Finance with the Government of the District of Columbia. Nate began the career journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer and has advanced through several key positions, including Finance Manager in the Real Estate Division at the Port of San Francisco and Senior Legislative Analyst for the City and County of San Francisco. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Georgetown University, along with completion of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at Harvard Kennedy School.
