Kushma Thapa is a Senior Sustainability Designer at Foster + Partners since March 2022, following a brief role as a Research Assistant at UCL, where work focused on sanitation and wastewater management in urban settings. Previously, Kushma served as an Architect for UNDP, contributing to earthquake-resistant building designs, community advocacy, and project implementation from May 2018 to December 2019. Prior experience includes the role of Community Architect at Lumanti Support Group for Shelter, where Kushma designed and oversaw reconstruction efforts in marginalized communities of the Kathmandu Valley from August 2016 to February 2018. Kushma holds an MSc in Engineering for International Development from UCL and a Master of Architecture in Sustainable Urban Design from the University of Nottingham, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture from Himalaya College of Engineering.
