Tom Smith

Tom Smith is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in the fields of robotics, software development, and virtual reality. Currently serving as CTO at fotostax since May 2023, Tom also owns Setpoint Design and co-founded TOIA LIMITED, where Tom has been a co-founder and CTO since January 2017. Prior to these roles, Tom co-founded Generic Robotics Ltd., focusing on technology for teaching dextrous skills with virtual reality and haptics until July 2023. Tom's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Cybernetics from the University of Reading, where Tom also contributed as a researcher from January 2007 to October 2013, designing novel technologies that integrate robotics with interactive software and sensor networks.
