Dr. Ingrid Hengster currently serves as the Country CEO for Germany and Global Chairman of Investment Banking at Barclays, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this, Dr. Hengster was a member of the Executive Board at KfW from April 2014 to December 2021. Additional leadership roles include serving as the CEO Country Executive for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at the Royal Bank of Scotland from 2008 to 2013, and as CEO and Managing Director for Germany and Austria at ABN AMRO Bank from 2005 to 2008. Dr. Hengster's earlier experience encompasses positions at Credit Suisse, UBS, Commerzbank AG, and Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG, where Dr. Hengster developed expertise in investment banking and project finance. Dr. Hengster holds a doctorate in law from Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg attained in 1983.
