Shannon Walsh has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Associate Director of Programs for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies' National Security Network. Shannon previously served as a Fellow at The Public Interest Fellowship in 2022. In 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant at Universidad de Monterrey, where they co-authored a research project on countering populism and polarization through mandatory national service programs. Shannon also held roles at The Philos Project, including Associate Director of Research and Education and Research and Education Intern. Furthermore, Shannon participated in the Caravan for Democracy program by the Jewish National Fund and served as the Executive Vice President of Sigma Delta Tau. Additionally, they interned at the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, and the U.S. House of Representatives. Shannon's experience also includes serving as the Philanthropy Chair for Sigma Delta Tau, where they successfully organized fundraisers and won a national award for programming.
Shannon Walsh attended Cor Jesu Academy from 2012 to 2016, where they received their High School Diploma. After graduating from high school, they went on to attend Tulane University from 2016 to 2020. During their time at Tulane, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an International Relations Concentration. In 2018, Shannon participated in a Semester Abroad program at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, although they did not receive a specific degree during that time.
