Phyllis A. James

Phyllis A. James currently serves as President of the Foundation for Women's Leadership & Empowerment, a role held since July 2019. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at MGM Resorts International from February 2002 to June 2019, where James held various legal and executive positions, culminating as Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity & Corporate Responsibility Officer. In this capacity, James led the company's enterprise-wide Corporate Social Responsibility policy and initiatives, focusing on diversity and inclusion, philanthropy, and community engagement, integral to the company’s values and culture. Phyllis A. James holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in American History & Literature from Harvard University.
