Kanchan Hole

Kanchan Hole has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and computational biology. Kanchan began their career as a Research Intern at Wockhardt Ltd., where they worked on a Master's thesis project. Kanchan continued at Wockhardt Ltd. as a Trainee in Intellectual Property Management.

Kanchan then moved on to Temple University, where they served as a Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Biology and later as a Webmaster for the same department.

At the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Kanchan worked as a Bioinformatics Intern. Here, they were introduced to the Seven Bridges platform and Cavatica and gained experience in NGS analysis using this platform. Kanchan also tested a bioinformatic tool called Bowtie2 Aligner on the Seven Bridges Cloud Platform.

Kanchan then joined The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson as a Computational and Systems Biology Co-Op. During their time here, they developed a computational framework to assess the expression of viral elements in RNA-Seq data and briefly worked with RNA-Seq data from Oxford Nanopore Technology for detecting novel splice variants in ALS patients.

Currently, Kanchan is Senior Manager, BioPharma Analytics Lead at Foundation Medicine. Prior to this role, they held positions as Manager in Lifecycle Product Development, Bioinformatics Scientist, and Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst at the same company. As a Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst, their responsibilities included developing and annotating genomic profiles of somatic aberrations based on NGS data and reviewing genomic variant calls using proprietary and publicly available tools.

Kanchan Hole's education history is as follows:
