Lucas Dennis

SVP & Head, Research & Development at Foundation Medicine

Lucas Dennis, PhD, is Senior Vice President, Head of Research and Development at Foundation Medicine. In his role, Dr. Dennis oversees early-stage research, computational discovery and diagnostic product development and is responsible for ensuring the advancement of the company’s cancer diagnostic portfolio.

Dr. Dennis joined Foundation Medicine in June 2018 to lead product development activities for Foundation Medicine’s liquid biopsy diagnostic portfolio, an effort that culminated in the successful launch and FDA approval of FoundationOne®Liquid CDx. Dr. Dennis then assumed accountability for development of Foundation Medicine’s diagnostic portfolio and has demonstrated a proven track record for delivering novel diagnostic solutions.

Prior to joining Foundation Medicine, Dr. Dennis spent ten years at NanoString Technologies, a life science tools company, where he held roles of increasing responsibility. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in several distinct areas of biology and is named on multiple U.S. patents or patent applications. He received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Ursinus College and a PhD in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
