Mehkar Sheikh

Mehkar Sheikh is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader in the startup ecosystem, currently serving as CEO and Regional Manager at Venture Cup Sweden, the country's largest national competition for startups and business ideas, since March 2023. In addition to this role, Mehkar leads as Stockholm Lead for Founders Live, a global platform supporting founders, and is a Co-Founder of Nutty Ventures AB, which connects the Nordic startup and impact ecosystem globally. Mehkar also oversees the Founder Institute in the Nordics as Managing Director and has experience as a Jury member for Ung Företagsamhet Stockholmsregionen. Prior to these positions, Mehkar worked as a pedagogue at Skolverket from August 2016 to March 2023. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching from Stockholm University, a Master's degree in Peace and Development Work from Linnaeus University, and a Master of Science in Communication Studies from the University of the Punjab.
