Jate Sam (Samathivathanachai)

Jate Sam (Samathivathanachai) has a diverse work experience across various industries. In 2010, they served as a Vice President at Evercore Partners, where they provided global healthcare M&A advisory services. From 2012 to 2015, Jate held executive positions at Allswell Trading and Allexcel Trading, both affiliated with Red Bull, serving as the Executive Director of Corporate Strategy & Investments and later as the Country Head for Red Bull Malaysia. Jate then became an Angel Investor in 2012 and continued this role until 2022. From 2019 to 2022, Jate worked as the Senior Director of Business Development, Licensing, and M&A at Horizon, a leading biotechnology company. In 2020, they became an Investor at both Berkeley Angel Network and Hyphen Capital. Additionally, Jate was an Investor at Life Science Angels since 2020, supporting investments in biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health startups. Most recently, in 2022, Jate became the Chief Business Officer at Foundery Innovations, a venture studio fund focused on investing in immunotherapeutics from top research universities. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President and Head of Finance and Corporate Development at Tranquis Therapeutics.

Jate Sam (Samathivathanachai) holds an M.B.A. degree in Management & Strategy, Marketing, and Biotechnology from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a B.S. degree in Molecular Environmental Biology.

Additionally, Jate has obtained several certifications to further enhance their knowledge and skills. Jate possesses a Business Law Certificate from Cornell Law School and holds the title of Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) from the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada), Inc. Jate has also completed the Disruptive Strategy Certificate from Harvard Business School Online, as well as the Executive Healthcare Leadership Certificate from Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Furthermore, Jate has acquired certifications in Healthcare Change Management from Cornell University - College of Human Ecology and in Leadership and Management, Healthcare Innovation, and Economics of Healthcare Delivery from Wharton Online.
