Cameron McDonald has had a varied career in the energy and insurance industries. In 2021, they began working as the Operations and Development Manager for Foundry, a Digital Currency Group Company. Prior to this, they were a Project Developer with Pfister Energy - reThink Energy from 2018 to 2021, a Business Development Manager at Montante Solar from 2016 to 2018, an Energy Services Representative at BidURenergy, Inc an NRG Company from 2013 to 2016, an Insurance Agent at National Income Life Insurance Company from 2012 to 2013, and a Project Manager at Swanson's Fabrication from 2012 to 2013.

Cameron McDonald attended Sweet Home High School from 2005 to 2009. Cameron then went on to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, Business Management, and Finance in 2012.
