Prior to this role, Chenning held the position of Managing Director at Temasek Holdings from July 2005 to December 2007 and was Vice President at JPMorgan Partners between May 2002 and July 2005. Early career experience includes an Associate role at Goldman Sachs from July 1997 to March 2001. Chenning's academic background features an MSc in Finance & Accounting from The London School of Economics and Political Science, an MSc in International Finance from the Graduate School of PBOC, and a BSc in Economics from Nanjing University.
