Chinmay Garg

Chinmay Garg has a diverse range of work experience in the field of robotics and software engineering. Chinmay is currently employed at Fox Robotics as a Robotics Software Engineer (Perception). Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Neocis, where they developed algorithms for dental implant detection and researched singularity and joint limit avoidance algorithms for robot arms. Chinmay also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, where they contributed to projects involving semantic mapping of forests, ground traversability determination for UGVs, SLAM systems, and semantic systems. Furthermore, they gained experience as a Machine Learning Engineer at DeepEdge, collaborating on a vision system for a beauty salon robot and developing a Siamese network model for one-shot image recognition. Additionally, they co-founded a company called Carca and held roles as a Management Trainee at ICICI Bank and an Engineering Intern at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India. Chinmay also served as a Teaching Assistant at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and worked as a Data Analyst Intern at Paytm, developing an automated seller scoring system and conducting sales performance analysis.

Chinmay Garg completed their Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Robotic and Control Systems at Carnegie Mellon University from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani from 2016 to 2020.
