Theresa Taplin began their career at Greenfield Senior Living Inc in 2006 as an Executive Director. Theresa worked there until September 2010. Taplin then joined Commonwealth Assisted Living as the Regional Director of Operations in October 2010. In May 2014, they transitioned to the role of Regional Director of Memory Care. Taplin's most recent work experience is as the Vice President of Operations at Fox Trail Senior Living, starting in May 2017.

In August 2005, they completed the Train-the-Trainer: Training Quality Dementia care Workers program offered by the Committee of Nursing and Allied Health. Additionally, in October 2003, Theresa Taplin became a Train-the-Trainer of Assisted Living Direct Care Staff through the Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensing Programs. Lastly, in March 2003, they obtained the Train-the-Trainer for Facility Trainers of Medication Aides certification from the Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensing Programs.
