Tim Shimp

Tim Shimp is currently the Director at Fox Valley Family YMCA. Prior to this, they were the Associate Superintendent at Yorkville CUSD #115 from July 2010 to June 2013 where they had administrative responsibilities for two elementary schools K-3rd, four elementary schools K-6th, one intermediate school 4th-6th, one Middle School 7th-8th, one 9th Grade Academy, and one 10th-12th Grade High School Campus, with a total enrollment of 5550 students. This also included direct supervision responsibilities of Director of ELL, Director of Gifted and Director of Technology; share supervision responsibilities of building principals; responsible for curriculum, instruction and assessment programs across the district; oversaw and wrote State and Federal Grants. Tim facilitated new process and long-range plan for K-12 articulation and curriculum development for each of the content areas; implemented and oversaw new Thoughtful Classroom Instructional Model. Tim was also a member of negotiating team while bargaining with certified staff.

Prior to their role as Associate Superintendent, Tim was the High School Principal at Yorkville HS from July 2007 to June 2010. Before that, they were an Assistant Principal at Hinsdale Central HS from July 1999 to June 2007.

Tim Shimp's educational career began with a Bachelor's degree in Education from Illinois State University. Tim then went on to earn a MA in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. Lastly, they earned an Ed.D in Educational Administration from Aurora University.
