Connie Wheeler

Connie received a B.S. in Sociology from Juniata College in 1969. After she and her husband moved to State College in 1971 for him to complete his education at Penn State, they liked the area so much that they stayed! She worked at Penn State Federal Credit Union for 37 years and served as CEO from 1999 until her retirement in 2014. As CEO, Connie transitioned from managing operations to strategic vision and planning, financial analysis, executive supervision and working with the Board of Directors. She served on the Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee for several years as well as on the Board of Directors. Connie has served on several local non-profit boards, including the AIDS Project, Arts Festival, and currently the Centre Safe Board as a member of its Finance Committee. Additionally, she is very active in the State College Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and is co-chair of the Philanthropic Priorities and Funds Distribution Committee. Connie is also a member of the State College Friends Meeting, serving as Treasurer and a Finance Committee member.
