Damienne Lebrun-Reid

Damienne Lebrun-Reid, LL.B., is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in financial planning standards and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as General Counsel and Head of the FP Canada Standards Council since September 2014, Damienne oversees the development, maintenance, and enforcement of professional standards, leading certification programs for CFP® and QAFP® professionals. Previously, Damienne held multiple leadership roles at FP Canada, including Executive Director and Managing Director of Standards, focusing on the development and enforcement of financial planning standards. Prior to FP Canada, Damienne worked as Investigation Counsel for the Law Society of Upper Canada, where responsibilities included investigating serious regulatory breaches. Damienne began a legal career as a Litigation Associate at Bennett Jones LLP, specializing in commercial litigation. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Laws from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts from York University, along with ongoing legal professional development at Osgoode Hall Law School.
