Liaqat Amin Khattak has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Liaqat Amin started their career as an intern at Pakistan Refinery Ltd. in 2007. Liaqat Amin then worked as a Management Trainee at Oil & Gas Development Co. Ltd for a short period in 2008.

In 2008, they joined Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qaism Limited as an Assistant Manager in Process Engineering and later became Deputy Manager in Process & Process Safety. During this time, Liaqat provided process support, monitored plant performance, proposed plant modifications, conducted root cause analysis, and participated in annual turnarounds.

In 2018, Liaqat joined SABIC as a Senior Process Engineer, where they focused on utilities.

Currently, Liaqat works at FPCL (FFBL Power Company Limited) as a Section Head in Process Engineering and as a Section Manager in HSE & Process Safety. In their current roles, they are responsible for process safety management, safety audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, hazard analysis, and technical review of ongoing studies. Liaqat Amin also identifies and resolves unsafe conditions and actions.

Liaqat Amin Khattak completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Chemical Engineering from Dawood College of Engineering & Technology Karachi, from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued their F.Sc. degree in Pre-Engineering from Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-7/3, from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Liaqat Amin Khattak has obtained various certifications in different areas such as Nebosh HSE - PSM from NEBOSH in November 2022, Certified PHA HAZOP Leader from Velosi Training Institute in October 2022, The Six Biases of Decision-Making from LinkedIn in June 2022, Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute in March 2022, NEBOSH IGC from NEBOSH in February 2021, and Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) - PHRA from TÜV Rheinland Group in October 2019.
