Emily Cozzi

Emily Cozzi, Ph.D. has over 20 years of experience in the medical and healthcare industry. Their most recent role was as Senior Director, Medical Affairs at Fractyl Health, where they have been since April 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director, Medical Affairs at Fractyl Health from May 2020 to April 2022. Emily also worked at Sage Therapeutics as Director of Medical Communications, Global Medical Affairs from May 2019 to May 2020 and as Director of Medical Education & Training from February 2018 to May 2020. Before that, they worked at Intercept Pharmaceuticals as Scientific Director, Global Medical Affairs from February 2016 to February 2018, as Associate Director Medical Affairs - Training from September 2015 to February 2016, and as a Medical Science Liaison from April 2014 to November 2015. Emily also has experience as a Medical Science Liaison at IKARIA, Inc. from September 2012 to April 2014, and at Organogenesis from January 2011 to September 2012. Emily Cozzi started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where they researched the genetic basis of asthma in mice. Emily has also worked as a Graduate student/research associate at the Brody School of Medicine at ECU, where they researched the effects of pollution on the cardiovascular system. Additionally, they have served as a Consulting Associate for the Harvard Graduate Volunteer Consulting Group, where they contributed to a business model for the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE).

Emily Cozzi, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from East Carolina University in 2002. Emily then pursued their Ph.D. in Physiology, Cardiovascular Disease at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they completed their Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asthma Genetics at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School from 2006 to 2010.
