Dr. Fran Coleman Associate Professor Of Music Industry Director Of Voice/choral Program at Francis Marion University

Fran Coleman has a diverse work experience in the music industry. Fran is currently an Associate Professor of Music Industry and the Director of Voice/Choral Program at Francis Marion University since August 2017. Fran also served as the Choir Director at Highland Park United Methodist Church from October 2017 to February 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Choir Director at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour from February 2017 to September 2017. Fran was also the owner and private voice instructor at Songbird's Studio, LLC from July 2010 to August 2017. Fran has held various adjunct voice faculty positions at Longwood University (May 2014 to May 2017) and John Tyler Community College (August 2011 to May 2017). Fran has also been a chorus member at Virginia Opera from August 2008 to May 2017. Fran has worked as a Section Leader at First Presbyterian Church from March 2014 to June 2016. Additionally, Fran has been an adjunct voice professor at Christopher Newport University from January 2011 to May 2012. Fran has also worked as a Musical Director/Vocal Coach at Chester Performing Arts Studio from July 2010 to May 2012.

Fran Coleman received a Bachelor of Music (BM) degree in Vocal Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, they attended Longwood University and pursued a degree in Music Education. In 2009, Fran completed a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory. They then earned a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) degree in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University in 2015.
