Kimberly Semerad started their work experience in 2003 as a Loan Advisor at Nelnet, where they worked until 2013. Kimberly then joined Franciscan Care Services, Inc. in 2013 as a Medical Transcriptionist and later became the Director of Health Information Management in June 2016.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Kimberly attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2001 to 2003, focusing on Journalism. Lastly, they returned to Metropolitan Community College from 2016 to 2019, culminating in the completion of an Associate's degree in Health Information/Medical Records Administration/Administrator.
