Dana Kelley has extensive experience in the education field. Dana is currently serving as the Campus Principal at Benjamin Franklin Middle School since 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at Franklin County Public Schools in Rocky Mount, VA. Dana served as Principal from 2017 and previously as Assistant Principal from 2015 to 2017. Before that, they worked as the Special Ed Coordinator / Assistant Principal from 2012 to 2015 and as the Student Services Specialist from 1998 to 2012. Additionally, they served as an Alumni Board Member at Ferrum College starting in 2014.
Dana Kelley has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ferrum College, which was obtained from 1992 to 1994. Dana also holds a Master of Education (MEd) in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from Virginia Tech, earned between 1996 and 1998. Additionally, Dana earned an Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Virginia Tech between 2010 and 2011. Dana is a National Board Certified Teacher, achieved in 2006. Dana completed their high school education at Franklin County High School in 1990.

Franklin County is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia.
