Michael Stephens currently serves as Training Sergeant at the Franklin Police Department, overseeing the annual training of sworn personnel, the onboarding of new officers, and the supervision of the Field Training Program. Michael also manages the Crisis Intervention Team and co-leads the Law Enforcement CIT Coordinator/Trainer for the Williamson County CIT Task Force, while actively participating in the Williamson / Maury County NAMI Steering Committee. Previous roles include Patrol Sergeant, where responsibilities included leading crisis negotiation and intervention teams, and Police Officer, with additional duties as a Training Officer and SWAT Team member. Michael's earlier experience includes serving as Director of Distance Education at Beacon University and as a Noncommissioned Officer in the US Army, where leadership and operational oversight were key components. Academic credentials include a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice College & Seminary and degrees in Organizational Leadership and Biblical Studies from Beacon University.
