Dronacharya Basu Thakur has extensive experience in the financial industry, particularly in sales and institutional sales. Dronacharya started their career as a Dealer at Pioneer Investcorp Ltd in 2002, before moving on to DWS Investments (Deutsche Bank Asset Management) as a Manager-Sales in 2004. Later, they joined Fidelity Worldwide Investment as the Regional Sales Head for North & South India, where they managed a team and focused on client interface and acquisition. In 2011, they became the Head of Corporate Sales at Fidelity, responsible for managing the corporate sales channel across the Indian market. Thakur then joined L&T Mutual Fund in 2012 and held various roles, such as Head Sales-PSU Corporate & North Zone, where they set up sales and distribution propositions and focused on building suitable investment propositions for government-run firms. In 2017, they became the National Head of Institutional Sales at L&T Mutual Fund, responsible for managing the institutional sales desk for India across major markets. Currently, they hold the position of Head Institutional Sales-India at Franklin Templeton India, starting in 2023.

Dronacharya Basu Thakur pursued their education in a chronological order. In 2000, they attended IIF in New Delhi for two years, focusing on various subjects such as General Management, Security Analysis, and Corporate Finance. Following this, in 2010, they attended the Securities & Investment Institute in London where they completed a program in International Wealth Management. During this program, their field of study centered around Global Markets, Asset Classes, and Structures.
