Terrence J. Murphy

Executive Officer, Section 16 at Franklin Templeton Investments

Terrence Murphy is Executive Vice President, Head of Public Market Investments and a member of the Executive Committee at Franklin Templeton. He is responsible for setting strategy and driving organizational growth for the collective Franklin Templeton public markets business.

Additionally, he is Chief Executive Officer at ClearBridge Investments. He also serves as Chairman of ClearBridge’s Management and Risk Management Committees. Terrence's leadership, grounded in 33 years of financial industry experience, was instrumental to the creation of ClearBridge Investments and its subsequent success. At predecessor firm Citigroup Asset Management, Terrence served as Chief Financial Officer from 2005 until 2006, when he was named Chief Operating Officer of the newly launched ClearBridge. Terrence joined Citigroup Asset Management in 2000 as Director of Planning. From 1997 through 2000, Terrence served as Business Controller for various product lines at Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Bank, including Project Finance, Asset Backed Lending and Treasury. Previously, he held several positions, including Business Controller for loan syndication and securitization at NatWest Bank's Commercial Lending Division.

Terrence earned his MBA in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University and his BA in Accounting from Adelphi University.
