Jeff Murphy has extensive experience in the education field. Jeff started their career in 1998 as a Grade 2 and Grade 3 teacher at Bloomington School District 87. After eight years, they transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at Aptakisic-Tripp District 102. In 2009, they became the Principal of Itasca District #10, where they worked until 2013. Since 2013, Jeff has been employed at Franklin Township Community School Corporation, initially as a Principal and currently as the Chief People Officer.
Jeff Murphy completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Iowa State University from 1993 to 1998. Jeff then pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Educational Administration and Foundations at Illinois State University from 2000 to 2003. Following this, they attended Northern Illinois University from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Leadership Educational Psychology and Foundations/Educational Administration. Jeff Murphy continued their education at Northern Illinois University from 2009 to 2012 and earned an Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (EdD) degree.
