Muriel Summers

Global Ambassador Franklincovey Education at FranklinCovey

Muriel Summers has had a long and successful career in education. Muriel began their career in 1979 as a Teacher at the Wake County Public School System, where they worked until 1992. From 1992 to 1995, they served as the Magnet Coordinator and Demonstration Teacher at the same school. Muriel then took a year-long leave and returned as an Assistant Principal from 1996 to 1998. For over two decades, from 1998 to 2021, they held the role of School Principal at A. B. Combs Elementary. Currently, Muriel is the Global Ambassador for FranklinCovey Education, a position they have held since 2021.

Muriel Summers holds an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership Development and Education from PennWest California. Muriel also earned a Master's degree in School Administration and Leadership Development from the University of Maryland. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Education and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
