Thorsten Sichtermann has a diverse work experience. Thorsten started their career at LTS - Lohmann Therapy Systems, where they completed a practical and Bachelor thesis. Thorsten then worked at DYTEC GmbH as an IT-Support specialist for three years. In 2015, Thorsten joined FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences as a research assistant, focusing on unsupervised neural networks and self-organizing map (SOM) for fluorescence spectroscopy analysis. Thorsten also contributed to the development of new approaches and methodologies related to Matlab-based simulations of robotic systems. Thorsten completed their Master thesis during this time as well. After that, they joined Uniklinik RWTH Aachen Neuroradiologie in 2016 as a PhD candidate, where they worked on MRI and deep learning. Thorsten'sresearch focused on the development of a machine learning system for detecting aneurysms and establishing quantitative water content measurements for patients with specific conditions. In 2019, Thorsten became a PostDoc and Head of a research group at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen.
Thorsten Sichtermann received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Medizintechnik und Sportmedizinische Technik from the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Thorsten then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering at Aachen University of Applied Sciences - FH Aachen from 2014 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in "Big-Data-Grundlagen: Methoden und Konzepte im Zeitalter von KI" from LinkedIn in May 2022.
