Elizabeth Demers

Member, Academic Advisory Committee at Accounting Standards Board (AcSB)

Elizabeth Demers serves as a Full Professor at the University of Waterloo's School of Accounting and Finance since August 2019. In addition to academic roles, Elizabeth holds several key positions, including Board Member for Badminton Canada, Director for the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, and Editor for both Contemporary Accounting Research and the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting. Elizabeth has also contributed to the Accounting Standards Board's Academic Advisory Committee since January 2021. Previous academic appointments include Full Professor at HEC Lausanne and Associate Professor at the Darden School of Business, along with visiting positions at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and a tenure as Assistant Professor at INSEAD. Elizabeth holds a PhD in Accounting and a Master’s in Statistics from Stanford University, as well as an M. Acc. and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo.
