Tobias Prenzel

Research Scientist & Project Lead at Fraunhofer

Tobias Prenzel has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Tobias started their career as a Student Assistant at Universität Stuttgart in 2012, where they worked in the field of Environmental Engineering until 2015. Following this, Tobias interned as an Intern Planning Supply Engineering at AUDI AG from December 2015 to April 2016. Tobias then joined Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2017 as a Graduate Research Assistant until August 2017. In 2018, Tobias rejoined Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as a Research Scientist & Project Lead, a position they currently hold. In 2019, they also became a Research Associate at Universität Stuttgart, a role they will hold until April 2023.

Tobias Prenzel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in 2015. Tobias then pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at the same university from 2016 to 2019. In 2017-2018, they engaged in an exchange program at Universidad de Cantabria, studying Industrial Engineering. Additionally, they attended a winter school on Smart Grids - Sustainable Integration of Renewables for Tomorrow's Power Grids at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2018. Tobias has also acquired additional certifications including Certified Data Scientist Basic Level from Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2022, Machine Learning with Python from Coursera in 2021, and Data Skills for Business (skill track) from DataCamp in 2020.
