Debbie Smith has extensive experience in nonprofit management, currently serving as the Manager of Government Nutrition Programs at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan since November 2013. Prior to this role, Debbie was the Director of Facility and Support at Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit from January 1999 to August 2012, where responsibilities included overseeing multiple sites, managing staff recruitment and training, and developing critical operational policies. Debbie also held the position of Director of Quality Management at Children’s Home of Detroit from January 1993 to July 1999, leading various committees focused on risk management, clinical safety, and quality assurance. Debbie earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Management from Macomb Community College.

Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan

Gleaners Community Food Bank, with broad community support, works to solve hunger in southeastern Michigan. In collaboration with our member agencies, the Feeding America network, and our program partners, we provide millions of pounds of donated and purchased food to people in need.
