Abizar Lakdawalla

Abizar Lakdawalla is a highly experienced professional in the fields of genomics, genome engineering, and product development. Currently serving as an Advisor at Fred Hutch and Interim CEO at Axor Biosystems, Abizar has a strong background in creating innovative solutions for genomic applications. With a long-standing role as a Course Instructor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Abizar teaches an intensive workshop on next-generation sequencing technologies. Past leadership roles include Vice President of Product Development at Apton Biosystems, where robust Agile development processes were established, and as CEO of Proxeom, where non-invasive liquid biopsy technology was engineered. Abizar's education includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from Bowling Green State University and post-doctoral studies in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, among other advanced degrees.
