John Hural

John Hural is an accomplished laboratory operations leader with extensive experience in the biomedical field. Currently serving as Director of Laboratory Operations and Principal Staff Scientist at Fred Hutch since March 2003, John has played a key role in the organization's growth, managing increasing budgets from $5M to $37M and expanding clinical sites from 18 to 60 across the United States, South Africa, and seven Sub-Saharan countries. John implemented a world-class system for blood collection and processing, ensuring that millions of specimens were shipped with over 99% compliance for use in complex immunologic assays. Previously, John worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Infectious Disease Research Institute from February 2000 to March 2003. John holds a Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University.
