Leigh Morgan is a board member at Fred Hutch. Leigh was previously the Chief Operating Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from January 2014 to December 2017.

Leigh is a key architect of the strategic transformation efforts at the Gates Foundation. Leigh was accountable for a $175M budget and led a team of 200+ dedicated professionals. Her portfolio included chairing the organization's first cross-enterprise governance body which oversaw the prioritization, sequencing, and execution of priority strategy initiatives, and strengthening enterprise-wide digital platforms, information/physical security, human capital, travel, and facilities capabilities.

As a member of Executive Leadership Team, Leigh was a key contributor to international development, global health, and domestic education strategies domestically and internationally. Leigh co-sponsored the foundation’s Open Access initiative. Leigh represented the foundation to external constituencies, key partners, and policy makers around the world.

Leigh Morgan's educational career includes an A.B. from Duke University in Religion and a Master of Science (MS) from American University in Organization Development. Leigh also holds an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters (HonPhD) from the Asian University for Women.
