Shane Sanders

Shane Sanders currently serves as Associate Vice President of Research IT & Scientific Computing at Fred Hutch since September 2023. Prior to this role, Shane worked at The Jackson Laboratory from February 2016 to August 2023, holding positions including Director of Research IT Infrastructure and Data Services, where responsibilities included architecting and managing IT solutions for faculty and research staff, along with overseeing staff performance. Earlier experience at Mississippi State University spanned various roles from Postdoctoral Associate to Teaching Assistant, where contributions included executing genomic research experiments, developing software for sequence analysis, and instructing students in laboratory techniques. Shane holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and multiple degrees in Computer Science and Biochemistry from Mississippi State University.
