Eric van Buren

Eric Van Buren has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and positions. Eric began their career as a Civil Engineering Intern at PBK Architects in 2006, followed by an internship at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. In 2009, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Texas A&M University. Eric then pursued their PhD and worked as a PhD Candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013, specializing in offshore wind energy. Following this, Eric joined Kvaerner as a Structural Engineer from 2013 to 2016. Currently, they are employed at Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, where they have held multiple roles, including Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, and currently as a Principal Engineer since February 2023. Throughout their career, Eric has focused on various aspects of engineering, including structural design, marine engineering, dynamic wind loading, and foundation systems for offshore wind turbines.

Eric Van Buren holds a PhD in Marine Civil Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), which they completed from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2009. Eric had previously earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution, which they completed from 2005 to 2008.
