Janet Mayer has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Janet worked at SUNY Fredonia starting in 2004, where they held multiple positions including Director of Contracts, Policy Manager, IT Project and Portfolio Manager, and Educational Technologist. Prior to that, Janet worked at Plantrol Systems, LTD from 2000 to 2004 as a Training & Development Client Services Professional. Janet also worked at Reciprocal from 1997 to 2000 as a Course Designer.

Janet Mayer attended Monroe Community College from 1987 to 1989, where they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Design and Visual Communications. Janet later earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Fredonia from 1989 to 1991. Janet then pursued a Master's degree in Communication from Ohio University, which they completed from 1991 to 1993. Finally, they attended San Diego State University from 2005 to 2007, studying Instructional Design.
