Mark Mathis

Mark Mathis has a strong background in the medical industry, with extensive experience in research and development. Mark founded Free Flow Medical, Inc. in 2016, where they serve as the CEO and is involved in the development of a new treatment for COPD. Prior to this, Mathis was the founder and Chief Technology Officer at PneumRx, a BTG International Company, where they played a key role in developing lung volume reduction implant technology for Emphysema patients. Mark also contributed to the successful merger of PneumRx with BTG. Mathis founded Genesis Medical in 2003, where they served as the Vice President of R&D. Mark successfully closed a merger with Boston Scientific Company to transfer the company's first product. Before that, Mathis founded Cardiac Dimensions Inc in 2000, where they led the R&D team in developing a catheter-delivered heart mitral valve reshaping implant. Mathis started their career at Cordis, a Johnson and Johnson Company, where they managed the development of the SMART peripheral stent product line. Mark also worked on various other peripheral vascular and Carotid Stent programs. Prior to their career in the medical field, Mathis worked in other engineering roles, including designing car chassis for the US Shadow F1 Team and working as an R&D engineer at Beta Phase, where they developed Nitinol-based products. Mark'swork experience also includes roles in racing teams, where they served as a race mechanic, team manager, and crew chief.

Mark Mathis completed their education in the field of engineering. Mark attended California State University, Chico from 1987 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Advanced Materials/Composites. From 1990 to 1991, Mark enrolled in a Graduate Level Biomedical Engineering Program at Clemson University. The degree obtained from this program was not specified.
