Alex Frandsen is currently serving as the Journalism Policy Program Manager at Free Press since May 2023, focusing on transforming local news through national policies. Prior experience includes working as a Communications Strategist at the Friends Committee on National Legislation from August 2019 to May 2023, where Alex led media campaigns on legislative priorities like the Child Tax Credit and the Violence Against Women Act. Additional roles include Communications Associate and Program Assistant at Storybench, where Alex produced the "2020 Election Coverage Tracker," gaining recognition from major media outlets. Early professional experience also includes an internship with Citizens for Juvenile Justice, assisting on legislative campaigns, and a role as a Congressional Intern for Congressman Jamie Raskin. Alex began a career in journalism as a Correspondent for Boston Globe Media. Alex holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Sociology from Northeastern University.
