Free the Slaves is an organisation founded in the early millennium with the goal of alerting the world to the global resurgence of slavery and catalysing a resurgence of the abolition movement. Slavery has been prohibited in every country, but it has not been abolished. Free the Slaves exists to help finish the work begun by previous generations ofabolitionists. Designers assist slaves in escaping the brutality of bondage. Designers work to keep others from becoming victims of human traffickers. Designers assist officials in bringing slave owners to justice. Designers assist survivors in reclaiming their dignity, rebuilding their lives, and reclaiming the future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
