Trillitye Paullin is the co-founder and CEO of Free to Feed. Trillitye was previously the quality assurance manager at Darigold from February 2018 to December 2020. Howard Hughes Medical Institute funded outreach program to expose high school students and incoming freshmen undergraduate students to an integrated evidence-based introductory level biology curriculum to inspire the success and persistence of future STEM scientists. Developed innovative curriculum alongside STEM Academy Director, Dr. Richard Pollenz. Attended leadership training courses in preparation of this intensive program.
From January 2017 to January 2018, Paullin was the director of research development at Burst Biologics. Utilized aseptic research techniques to gain a better understanding of the heat shock response (HSR) while employing tissue culture, C. elegans, and D. melanogaster. Established the connection between HSR and the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in ovarian cancer. Research the possibility of sensitizing ovarian cancer cells to pharmaceutical chemotherapy agents via heat shock protein inhibition. Maintained multiple projects simultaneously and effectively communicate research results through technical writing in grants and science publications. Instructed two courses of twenty-four students each in Cellular Processes and/or General Genetics Laboratory each semester. Responsible for lecturing innovative biological concepts and laboratory techniques. Oversaw proper completion of experimental testing and health safety protocols and documentation. Conducted all grading and evaluations to provide feedback to students. Advised and instructed Masters and Undergraduate Research Students in current laboratory procedures.
Trillitye Paullin earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of South Florida. Trillitye also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Minot State University.
