Donald Lindsay

Donald Lindsay is the current People Operations Director at FreeAgent. Prior to this, they worked as an HR Consultant for Standard Life Investments from September 2010 to June 2016. In this role, they worked as part of a fast-paced HR team in partnership with business leaders to provide a full suite of HR services to a global business of 1600 people with £195.1 billion of assets under management.

Donald Lindsay believes that commercial success stems from a culture of empowerment and responsibility where people are given the opportunity to enjoy working to their strengths in an adult to adult, fast-paced professional environment. Donald understands the importance and value of attracting, engaging, retaining, and rewarding talented people and actively looks for innovative ways to achieve this in alignment with industry best practice.

Donald Lindsay takes a keen interest in HR technology and the increase in capability, collaboration, enablement, and engagement that this can bring to an organization. Donald works as part of a consultancy model to bring value to businesses through the delivery of people-related projects that are aligned with the wider business strategy and people plan. Donald brings a professional and creative approach and enjoys using their experience and people skills to influence and develop relationships with their internal stakeholders and external contacts.

Donald Lindsay has a Bsc in Psychology from The University of Edinburgh, an MSc in Human Resource Management from Edinburgh Napier University, and a Professional Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School. Donald is also certified by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in Investments Operations Certificate - Introduction to Securities & Investments, by The Energy Project as an Accredited Trainer - Fit for the Future Programme - Standard Life Investments, and by Gallup as a Clifton Strengthsfinder Certified Coach. Lastly, they are certified by The Predictive Index as a Certified PI Analyst and by Prosci in PROSCI Change Management (ADKAR).
