John Fredrickson

John Fredrickson has extensive work experience in the technology industry. John started their career as a Specialist DBA at Oracle in 1997 and later worked at Yahoo! as a Senior Technical Consultant and European Manager. At Yahoo!, they managed SLA-beating uptime, led European strategy, and educated engineering and management groups.

John then joined BSkyB as a Platform Management Lead and Nokia as a Program Manager. At BSkyB, they were responsible for platform management, while at Nokia, they worked in advanced operations.

John's next role was at United Health Group, where they served as an Infrastructure Director. John launched and managed Software-as-a-Service products, implemented a Data Centre colocation, and achieved ISO 27001 certification for Information Security.

Following this, they joined Sky (NowTV) as a DevOps and Cloud Manager, responsible for managing a large, multi-tenanted Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure. John led a team of DevOps engineers and supported Agile development teams.

Currently, John is working at FreeAgent as the Director of Platform Engineering, where they utilize their expertise to lead and oversee platform engineering initiatives.

Overall, John has a strong background in technology management, DevOps, cloud platforms, and information security.

John Fredrickson attended Kingston University from 1987 to 1991, where they pursued a BSc (Hons) in Computing and Business Studies.
